I just applied for one of these for my brother.  He's diabetic and without a phone which is very necessary for him to have since he can go low real quick.  It's a basic tracphone and they put 68mins a month on it.  It's all totally free and basically a good phone to have for emergency situations.  It's not available in all states yet but they are expanding to new states all the time.  Just a few months ago you couldn't get one in NY but now you can.

In my Fight Back series, I’m teaching you about how to deal or what is a simple way of dealing with collectors. Here is a very simple tip that helps.

When you get a call from a collection agency and or it’s an automated call. Hit your number 2 button on your phone while the call is going.

What is does is start to delete you off the collection agency call list. It works for about 90% of all collection calls. When you do this, it will take about 5 to 7 business days to get you off the list. So you might get calls during that time period. So be patient.

Just keep trying and calls will go away. Give it try, it does work.
